It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mom and grandma, Phyllis Marion Rodgers (McDougall) on June 5th, 2011 in The Prince George Hospice House at the age of 77, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Dearest mother of Scott, Doug (Janice), Marie and Ron; loving grandmother of Jessica, Jamie, Kaylee, Tyler, and Kelsie. Also survived by sisters Mildred Briunsma of Scarborough, Ontario, Mary (Charlie) Wain of Bayfield, Ontario and brother Arthur (Janet) McDougall of Bayfield, Ontario.

Predeceased by mother and father Leila and Douglas McDougall, sister Helen Johnson and brother Don (Andi) McDougall.

I would like to thank Cathy for being like a second daughter to my mom and her friend Shirley, for always being a great friend to her for over 35 years.

Mom loved to live her life simple, family and friends, hockey, baseball, news, and her garden. She could name ever player on every team in the NHL. As a young women she was the captain of the ladies softball team on the Air force base and collected many ball and bowling trophies.

Mom was a strong and independent women. She faced many difficult times but always bounced back stronger than ever. She was always there for all of us kids. If only I could be half as strong as she was!. She fought her illness with dignity and determination just the way she lived her life.

Now sorrow consumes us because you are gone but the warm memories of you
sooth our grieving hearts,
for we know our separation is only brief,
until one day we will be united again.
You were so loved and will continue
to be loved in our hearts.
We will miss you so deeply.

Celebration of Phyllis' life will be held on Friday, June 24th, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at St. Andrews On The Square,159 Seymour Street.

Special thanks to Dr Prigmore, and the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Prince George Hospice House. Our family is tremendously grateful for the loving support and care Mom received while with you. We cannot thank everyone enough.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Canadian Red Cross or your local Hospice House.
