Surrounded by her loving family, Elizabeth May Milley, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. At the time of her passing she was a resident of Celtic Court in Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Belle (Moulton) Mercer.
She was a member of St. Luke’s United Church, Donkin, and a long time member of the UCW.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; son, Jimmy (Gladys), Glace Bay; daughter, Patricia (Winston) Caines, Sydney Forks; grandchildren, Blair Milley, Jimmy (Franca) Milley, Ottawa, Jillian Caines, Grand Cayman Islands, Stephen Caines, Halifax; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Joshua Milley, Ottawa. She is also survived by sisters, Glady Spencer, Mary (Ernie) Cochrane; and brother, Melvin (Sylvia), Glace Bay.
She was predeceased by daughter, Gloria, sisters, Emma Maidment, Amy Dixon, Jessie Mercer, Georgina MacDonald, brothers. George and Joseph Mercer and stepmother, Sabine.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 13 at St. Luke’s United Church, Donkin. Interment will be at St. Luke’s Cemetery.
