Shawn Gilbert Stevens, 30, of 36 Levi Lane, Wagmatcook, passed away July 20, 2011.
He was the son of Connie Stevens of Wagmatcook, and Laverne Greek of Lunenburg, N.S.
He was a member of Katri Tekawitha parish, Wagmatcook.
Shawn was an avid hunter and fishermen. He loved to spend time with his brother Danny and loved watching hockey games on television with his grandfather Ronald Sr., with whom he lived for the past year.
Shawn was a great handyman, he enjoyed doing carpentry work and loved to help out in any way he could. Shawn also loved spending time with his two wonderful nephews whom he dearly adored. He also loved cooking, he was taught by his grandfather and loved to share his favourite recipes with him.
Shawn cherished the time he spent with his family and friends and will be missed by all.
Besides his parents, Shawn is survived by one daughter, Ashley Jane Joe, Eskasoni (Flora Joe); sister, Georgina Paul, Wagmatcook; stepsister, Debbie Greek, Lunenburg; two brothers, Bradly Stevens (Katie Naismith), Alberta, Danny Stevens (Margie Carmichael), Wagmatcook; two nephews, Jack Stevens, Theo Paul; grandparents, Keptin Ronald Sr. Stevens, Wagmatcook, Harry and Daisy Greek, Lunenberg; uncles, Dennis Isadore, David Stevens, Ronald Jr. Stevens and Kevin Stevens, all of Wagmatcook; godmother, Ethylene Peck.
He was predeceased by his grandmother, Jane Julia Stevens, aunts, Deborah, Marcia, uncles, Douglas, Keith, Gerald (who was also his godfather), nephew, Chad Francis, all of Wagmatcook.
The body is resting at the home of his mother Connie Stevens at 36 Levi Lane with visitation at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 28. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 30 at Katri Tekawitha parish of Wagmatcook, N.S., with Rev. Robert MacNeil officiating. Burial will be in Wagmatcook Cemetery.
