It is with heavy hearts, that we the family announce the passing of Malcolm Daniel Reid, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney after a brief illness.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of Mrs. Barbara (MacAskill) Reid, Sydney and the late Malcolm Reid.
Daniel worked at Petersfield Park in Westmount for the Department of Natural Resources.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his brothers, Gordie (Greta), Westmount, Brian (Christine), Fort St. John, Blair, North Sydney; sisters, Gail (Ralph) Charlong, Westmount, Sharon (Mike) Kennedy, Westmount, Nancy (Breton) Lumdson, Calgary, Linda (Gary) Fenton, Nanaimo, B.C.; many nieces and nephews, as well as many loyal friends and co-workers.
Besides his father, Malcolm, he was predeceased by his sister, Karen.
Cremation has taken place, as per Daniel’s request. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating. Reception to follow.
