LEAVITT, EDNA IRENE - Peacefully at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, NB on August 13, 2011, Mrs. Edna Irene (Trynor) Leavitt, wife of the late Burns M. Leavitt, of Blacks Harbour, NB. Born in Pennfield, NB on July 14, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Bertha (McHugh) Trynor. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, she is survived by one son, Robert (Glenna) Leavitt, of Blacks Harbour, NB; one daughter, Betty Leavitt, of Blacks Harbour, NB; two grandsons; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd (Chris) Trynor, of Moncton NB; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Burns, she was predeceased by her brother, Hazen; her twin brother, Edwin; and by her two sisters, Joan Adams and Alice Justason. Prior to her retirement, Edna worked for Connors Bros. for many years, both in the factory and later in the Fundy Arena canteen. She was a devoted mother to her children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The service will be held from the Christ Church (Anglican), Pennfield, NB on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Canon Keith Osborne officiating, followed by the interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. www.stgeorgefh.ca
