Dill, Lola May — It was with sadness the family announced the passing of Lola May Dill, 89, of Bramber, Hants County. Lola went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Monday, August 1, 2011 at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on December 11, 1921, in Cheverie, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Edna (Brison) Brown. Lola was a resident of the Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, for the past three years. She worked at the Nova Scotia Textiles, Windsor for many years, until her retirement. Lola loved the Hants Shore and especially watching the tide come in and the beautiful sunsets at the Cheverie Causeway. Lola is survived by her children, Garwin (Elaine) Burgess, Bramber; Wayne (Sharon) Burgess, Eastern Passage; Dale (Kaye) Burgess, Ymir, British Columbia; Blaine (Carol) Burgess, Ellershouse; Sandra Burgess, Summerville; Donna (Byron) Macumber, Lower Sackville; 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Harry and Edna (Brison) Brown; she was predeceased by her husband, Vernon Dill; also by her first husband, Avard Burgess; daughter, Carol Starratt; three grandchildren, Jeanette Page, Annette Starratt and Jason Lake; and a sister, Treva Stanton. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to all the staff and volunteers at the Windsor Elms Village, for the comfort, care and love given to Lola. Cremation has taken place and there was no visitation by request. A memorial service was 2 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011, in the Chapel at the Windsor Elms Village, Dyke Road, Falmouth. The Chaplain, Rev. Debra Mosher officiated, followed by a reception at the Windsor Elms Village. A private family interment was held in the Grace United Cemetery, Walton, Hants County. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Lola were requested to be made to Windsor Elms Chaplaincy Fund or Palliative Care (Hants Community Hospital).
