(February 3, 1954 - September 10, 2011). Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Palliative Care Unit at Carbonear General Hospital, George Bishop, age 57 of Upper Island Cove. Predeceased by father Heber Allan Bishop and father-in-law Ralph McCarthy. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Cecilia Bishop and three daughters: Stephanie, Jennifer (Jeremy) Yetman and Lindsey; two grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Emma and Owen Yetman; mother Jeannette Bishop; sister Dorothy (Randy) Hunt; brothers: Robert (Sharon) Bishop and Claude (Julie-ann French) Bishop. As well as many nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts and an extended circle of family and friends. Thank you to Drs. Greenland, Ahmad, Mann and O'Shea and all the compassionate and caring staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre as well as the Board of Directors and Staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation. Much appreciation to the staff of St. Clare's Mercy Hospital and the nursing staff of both 4NA and 5SB at the Health Sciences Centre. A sincere heartfelt thanks to Dr. G. Howse and the nursing staff at the Carbonear General Hospital – the level of comfort provided by each of you will never be forgotten.
