Born on March 1, 1951, in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Sanford) Wood. Debby enjoyed all her family, especially her granddaughter, Macie who brought many joys to her life. Mom loved winter travelling and her furry friends. She will be dearly missed, but will be with us forever. Sadly she had no time to say “Good-bye” to all the people she loved. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ronald “Shakes” Hood; daughters, Elizabeth (Robert) Cyr, Ashdale; Jocelyn (Mike) Johnston, Woodville, Hants County; granddaughter, Macie Elizabeth Johnston; her siblings, David (Beatrice) Wood, Mount Denson; Garnet (Portia) Wood, Sackville; Bruce (Wanda) Wood, Lower Burlington; Ronnie (Debbie) Wood, Three Mile Plains; Charlotte Wood, Ashdale; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Harry and Mary (Sanford) Wood; Debby was predeceased by her nephew, David Shawn Wood. Cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Family and friends were invited to a time of visitation, from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, at 1102 Ashdale Road, Ashdale, where a reflection service was held at 4 p.m. A private graveside service was then held at the Scotch Village Community Cemetery, Scotch Village. In lieu of flowers, donations were requested to be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to the SPCA Hants County Branch.
