It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stuart Charles Morley at his home in Westmount, on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at the age of 53 years.
Stuart was the beloved husband, best friend, and soul mate of Dianne (MacWilliam), and proud father of Stuart Robert Morley, who made his life complete and was his pride and joy.
He was the devoted son of Stuart and Elizabeth (Randall) Morley.
Stuie was a valued member of the Department of Justice and took great pride in his job as a deputy sheriff. Stuie worked as many different jobs during his life starting at the Sydney Steel Corporation working with the railway. He then took his law enforcement course at Holland College and went to work as a supervisor of security for Dyne Holdings Ltd. He also worked as a Conservation and Enforcement Officer (Warden) with the Department of Natural Resources in Coxheath and from there he went on to work for Brinks Canada as an armed guard. Stuie then worked part-time as a correctional officer with the Cape Breton Correctional Facility while also working with the sheriff’s department until finally becoming a full-time employee as a deputy sheriff.
Stuie is also survived by his in–laws, Robert and Evelyn MacWilliam and their extended family, as well as a daughter by a previous marriage.
Stuie also had a great passion for cars and took great pride in all the vehicles he owned, and in particular his 1988 Monte Carlo SS.
Stuie will be greatly missed by all the friends and family who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a good friend to many and his sense of humour will be greatly missed. The world has lost a great man.
Visitation will be held today (Tuesday, Oct. 18) at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, Sydney, with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an educational fund for his son, Stuart, Jr. or to a charity of your choice.
