Formerly of Labrador City and Lewisporte, passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, October 23, 2011, at 9:28 p.m. in the presence of her loving family. She was 83. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Augustus Simmons; her six daughters: Una Mills (Scott); Joyce Ryan; Juanita Learning (David); Louise Roy; Cathy Bluer (Frank) and Jo-Ann Nicolle (Chad); her three sons: Eugene (Mary); Terry (Natasha); Gary (Sue); her eighteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and a special member of the family, Mabel Simmons. Funeral arrangements being made by Woolfrey’s Funeral Home of Lewisporte but visitation and the funeral service to take place at the Salvation Army Citadal in Campbellton, NL. Time and date to be determined. Flowers graciously accepted or, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the St. Patrick’s Mercy Home Foundation of St. John’s, NL.
