John Lyle Enslow, passed away peacefully in Vancouver, BC, on Friday, November 4, 2011 after a long battle with cancer.
John was predeceased by his mother Catherine R. Enslow (nee Penticost) and his stepmother Grace Enslow (nee Brown).
He is survived by his father John William Lyle Enslow, Lawrencetown, NS; three sisters, Linda Brake (Frank) Lawrencetown, NS, Merri Sue Hannem (John), North Sydney, NS and Catherine Dunn (William), Woodlawn, NS. He is also survived by three nephews; four nieces and four beautiful grandnephews.
John served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 15 years. He was employed by the Vancouver Second Mile Society for the past 18 years helping to provide food, support and companionship for senior citizens in downtown Eastside Vancouver. He is sadly missed by friends, neighbors, colleagues and family.
Interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery at a later date.
