SHANKS, LLOYD AUSTIN - The death of Lloyd Austin Shanks of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on December 11th, 2011. Born in Musqush, NB, he was the son of the late Harry and Eleanor (Austin) Shanks and the husband of Joan (Deadman) Shanks. Lloyd served in The Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII as a flying officer and flew over 40 missions over Germany. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be sadly missed. Survived by his loving wife, Joan; two sons, Stephen Shanks (Linda) of Quispamsis, NB and Gregory Shanks (Debbie) of Fredericton; six grandchildren, Tracey Steeves (Brad), Kimberley, Karrie Newman (Sean), Gregory Jr, Amy and Katie (Trent); great grandchildren, Rachel, Ashlynn, Mira and Elliot; his siblings, Murray Shanks (Mavis), Julia Connell, Hazel Stevens, Beverleigh Morgan (Charles), Janet Shanks and Sharron Shanks. Predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Calvin, and Duanne.
