It is with sadness that the families of the late Elizabeth Shirley King announce her passing on December 10, 2011 at her residence in Grand Falls Windsor, NL, at the age of 76 years. Betty is predeceased by her husband, Llewellyn; parents, John and Margaret Mercer; brother, Wilbur. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are daughter, Yvonne King of Grand Falls-Windsor; and son, David (Carolyn) of Gander, NL; granddaughter, Maria; sisters, Vera Purchase, and Marilyn Hillyard; brother, Bill; as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The visitation took place Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 7 pm, Monday, Dec. 12, 2011 at 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. The funeral services was held on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 11 am from the Holy Trinity Anglican Church with Rev. Randy Lockyer officiating. The interment followed at the Anglican Union Street Cemetery, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Parking Lot memorial fund as well as the Parkinson’s Society. Pallbearers were Brenda Jenkins, Vince Mercer, Patricia Hickey, Colin Hillyard, Lynette Chamberlain, Neil Hillyard. Funeral arrange-ments have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
