It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hayward Martin announce his passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre on Sunday December 11, 2011 at the age of 83 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Mildred, sons: Donald (Imelda), Ralph (Rosemary), Wayne (Shirley), daughters: Sharon (Ron) Bennett, Christine (Craig) Kennedy, 8 grandchildren: Sean, Tracy, Janis, Renee, Jordan, Colton, Stephanie, Brittany, 10 great grandchildren, sister Pearl Hodder, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Anora & Joseph Martin, step-mom Hannah, foster parents Dinah & Ralph Smith, sister Katherine Peddle and brother John Martin. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Wednesday December 14, 2011 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. and on Thursday December 15, 2011 from 10-12 A.M. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 2 P.M. from Westside Tabernacle, Elizabeth Street with Pastor Calvin Andrews officiating. Interment to take place at a later date in his home town of Little Hearts Ease. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Association of a charity of one’s choice.
