It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, grandfather and brother, William Sheldon ‘Brother’ Jessome, of Florence, on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011.
Born in Sydney Mines, he was a son of the late Bill and Melvina (MacLeod) Jessome.
During his 20 years of retirement, Brother has enjoyed many outdoor activities. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be deeply missed by his numerous friends and family. He was a member of St. Stephen Church, Florence.
William is survived by his wife, Ginny (Virginia); his daughter, Denise Jessome, Sydney Mines; grandson, Carl Jessome, Ontario; his brothers, Joe (Gail) Jessome, Big Bras d’Or, Billy (Lynn) Jessome, Calgary; sisters, Sis (Dolena) Pye, Florence, N.S., Laura (Donnie) MacDonald, Groves Point, Paulette (Ronnie) Matthews, Halifax, Betty Mugford, Ontario; also by a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Brother was predeceased by his two sons, David and Kenny, a grandson, Stephen and sister, Reno (Sharon) MacInnis, brother-in-law, Cleary (Clarence) Pye and nephew, Joey (Joseph) Morrison.
Visitation for Brother will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Stephen Church, Florence, with Rev. Thomas John officiating. A burial will take place in the parish cemetery. A light lunch will be served at the parish hall following the funeral mass.
