WARD, MURRAY GORDEN - At Ridegwood Veteran’s Wing, Saint John NB on December 26, 2011, Mr. Murray Gorden Ward, husband of Lorraine (Gallant) Ward of Seeleys Cove NB. Born at Saint John NB on November 18, 1924, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Margaret (Donaldson) Ward. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife, Lorraine he was a loving father to; John Palmer of Norton NB, Keith Myshrall of Saint John NB and Glenn Ward of Pocologan NB, grandchildren; Jim, Debbie, Bob, Doug, Mike, Judy, Kathy, Brittany and Dennis, special granddaughter, Jessica (Paul) Corning and their children, Jamie, Nicole, Carter and Mallory all of Seeleys Cove NB, one brother, Donald (Eleoner) Ward of Saint John NB, one sister, Rose Caldwell and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jean Ward, one son, James, one brother, Larry Ward and by one sister, Laura Campbell. Murray was a veteran of the Second World War, serving as a Pay Sergeant with the Canadian Army from 1941 - 1973, serving in Newfoundland, England and much of Europe. Following his service, he was employed as a Police Officer for the city of Saint John and as well as a fisheries officer in St. Martins NB. Prior to his retirement, he worked for several years as a Clerk/Examiner for the Dept. of Motor Vehicle in St. George NB.
In keeping with Murray’s wishes there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date. In Murray’s memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
