Joseph E. Poirier, 88 of Foyer Pere Fiset Guest Home, Cheticamp, passed away Jan. 9, 2012, at the guest home.
Born in Plateau, Inverness Co., N.S., he was the son of the late Elore and Louise (Deveau) Poirier.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Adele (Roach) Poirier; sons, Rémi (Marie), Robertsville, N.S., Xavier (Ginette), Cheticamp, Neil (Annette LeFort), Cheticamp; daughters, Bessie (Chester) LeLievre, Cheticamp, Velma (Paul) Ulrich, Sydney, Camella (late Claude) Roach, Cheticamp; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held at Cheticamp Funeral Home, today (Wednesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church, Cheticamp. Interment in the parish cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Foyer Pere Fiset or charity of choice.
Funeral arrangement are under the direction of Cheticamp Funeral Services Ltd.
