It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Mickey MacLellan, on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Scarborough Grace Hospital.
Born in Toronto, she was the daughter of the late Annie (White) and Albert Gray. Mickey moved to Ingonish in 1963 and lived there until 2001 after the passing of her late husband, Chester MacLellan.
She leaves behind brother, Allan Gray, Scarborough, Ont.; daughters, Donna Samways (Dale), Ingonish, Judy Christiansen (Pat), Dominion, Nancy MacLellan (Lezlie), Courtice, Ont.; sons, Michael MacLellan (Loretta), Sydney, and Daniel MacLellan, Scarborough, Ont.; grandchildren, Jenny, Tracy, Rachel, Ricky, Peter Shannon and Amanda; 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and best friend, Floss MacKinnon.
Mickey will be remembered for her great spirit, love for life and ability to listen when anyone needed an ear. Her most important thing in life was her children, especially her beloved son, Danny, with whom she resided the last years of her life.
“She will be kept in our hearts forever.”
Cremation has taken place under the care of Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home. A private family celebration of Mickey’s life will be held in Cape Breton at a later date.
Donations can be made in Marilyn’s name to the Heart and Stoke Foundation.
