The family of Walter Grass extends an invitation for you to join in a "Celebration of Life" on Friday, November 3rd, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel. The Reverend Isabel Healy-Morrow will officiate. Walter passed away in Vancouver at St. Paul's Hospital on Friday, October 27th, 2006 at the age of 68 years. He is survived by his blended family, Louise Grass, son John (Teresa) Grass, granddaughters Alita and Kyra of Kamloops, Jim (Jan) Douglas, granddaughter Crystal of Whistler, Ron (Corrinna) Douglas of Kamloops, and Kim (John) Slattery of Vernon. He also leaves to cherish his memory his father Ernest (Helen) Grass of Winnipeg, sister Heidi Mross of Calgary, sister Anita (Ozzy) Pedde of Winnipeg and sister Gudrun Grass of Calgary as well as many nieces and nephews. Walter was born in Poland on February 1st, 1938. He came to Canada with his parents when he was 15. He was involved with residential construction is many forms from carpenter to draftsman. Walter settled in Kamloops in 1972 with his family. Shortly after that he began his career with the City of Kamloops as a Building Inspector for 20 years, retiring in 1997. An avid fisherman who enjoyed the many local lakes, he was always generous with his catch. Walter will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Should friends desire, donations to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation in his memory would be appreciated.
