ROSS ESTABROOKS

Lieu de naissance : Nouveau Brunswick, Canada

Lieu de décès : Texas, États-Unis

Ross Myers Estabrooks
With great sadness and heavy hearts, we acknowledge the passing of a beloved husband dad and grandfather, Ross Myers Estabrooks, on November 22, 2009, in Conroe, Texas.
Ross was born in Sackville, New Brunswick on April 27, 1945. He was the son of the late Horace and Harriett Estabrooks.
Ross is survived by his wife Carol; daughters, Ann, Carol (Wayne Rice), Cheryl; sons, Ross, Jr. (Jennifer), and Richard; grandchildren Eric, Cody, and Kaitlyn; and two step-grandchildren Rainie and Sara.
His travels and adventures took him through Canada and America, to – lately and lastly – Conroe, Texas. He cut a swath through the hearts and minds of those with whom he worked and befriended along the way as great as any of the miles he chewed up on the continent.
Ross had a passion and appreciation for work and for life matched by few. His candle always burned at both ends, and in the middle.
The fierceness of his intellect and drive brought him success and regard and extraordinary respect in his field. There was nothing he couldn’t figure, he figured, often rightly.
Equal to that work ethic and ability was his great enjoyment of the true pleasures of life – a few good tunes, a drink, a shared laugh, a good story and maybe a little lobster.
He was allergic to authority, airplanes and seatbelts. Traveling any less than 900 miles a day (not in a plane) was an intolerable waste of time. He had a quarrel with whoever put only 24 hours in the day.
The heart that finally gave out on him was quite a little bigger than normal issue – Ross loved deeply and generously and had a ready soft-heart and great kindness for kids, animals, and friends a little low and those low on their luck.
Sixty-four (64) is no measure of the amount of life that can fill it. Ross lived at least three times that long, and lived it with daring and under his own power.
The world seemed a little kinder, and more exciting, and cranked up a notch for having Ross in it.
Things seemed more possible, and we will miss him beyond measure, as well as his many, many friends he made along his self-charted way.
Following a Celebration of Life at his home in Conroe, Texas, Ross’s ashes will be brought to Sackville, N.B., where, under the direction of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, N.B. (506-364-1300), visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009 from 7 to 9 p.m.
A memorial service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 at 2 p.m. Major Stan Folkins will officiate.
Internment will follow in the Sackville Cemetery.
Family flowers only. Those wishing to make a donation in Ross’s memory may do so to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetic Association.
