It is with heavy hearts that the family of Georgina Ryan announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care with her nephew Jim McIntyre, his wife and niece Louise Caines by her side.
Born in Glace Bay, Georgina was the daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine (Burroughs) Ryan.
For the past several years Georgina resided at Harbourstone Enhanced Care.
Georgina is survived by her brothers, Patrick and Michael Bernard. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as grand nieces, and nephews.
Georgina was predeceased by her brothers, Tommy and John; sisters, Mary McIntyre, Cecilia MacNeil and Rita MacInnis. She was also predeceased by two siblings in infancy, Kathleen and Francis.
Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at S. W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St. Sydney, with Fr. Conrad Edwards officiating. There will be a reception following the service. Interment to take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
