HILLSIDE – Dean Reid Llewellyn, age 82, of Halifax and formerly of Hillside, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born in Sturgeon, PEI, he was a son of the late Richard and Elizabeth Ann (Reid) Llewellyn.
He was a retired employee of Hawker Siddeley where he worked in the tool room and on gas lines. He was a member of First United Church, Trenton, Hillside and Area Seniors Club and the former Hillside Hall.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet (MacKean); daughters: Ann (Ross) MacFarlane, Bedford; Helen (Allen) Sutherland, Dartmouth; Donna (Steve) Llewellyn-Cummings, Bedford; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Heath (Edith), New Castle, Ont.
He was predeceased by sister Mary Murphy and brothers, Oakley and James.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, with Rev. Dr. Ken MacLeod officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery at a later date.
