KINGSTON, ELIZABETH RUTH - Peacefully on March 16, 2012, at the Fundy Nursing Home, Black’s Harbour, N.B., Mrs. Elizabeth Ruth (Stanton) Kingston went home to be with her Lord. Elizabeth was born in East Ferry, Digby Co., N.S. on May 7, 1928. She was a daughter of the late Curtis and Frances (Buckley) Stanton. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, she is survived by two sons; Charles (Janet) Kingston of Fredericton, N.B., Thomas (Georgie) Kingston of Clarenville, N.L., three daughters; Betty Anne (Ron) Harwood of Lakeville-Westmoreland, N.B., Regina Kernighan of Upper L’Etang, N.B. and Veronica (Roger) St. Onge of St. George, N.B., ten granddaughters, one grandson, eight great grandchildren, one brother, Clyde (Valerie) Stanton of Wilmington, CA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Charles, she was predeceased by her granddaughter, Natalie St. Onge, three sisters; Allene Roth, Virginia McLean and Hazel Gillespie and by one brother Spurgeon Stanton. A member of the Pennfield Baptist Church, Elizabeth enjoyed spending most of her days being a wonderful wife, mother, nannie and homemaker. Elizabeth was an avid curler and also enjoyed shopping, especially for clothing. Elizabeth had a special love for music, especially Daniel O’Donnell.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The service will be held from the Pennfield Baptist Church, Pennfield, N.B. on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Grant Alcorn officiating. The interment will take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery in the spring. In Elizabeth’s memory, donations can be made to the Natalie St. Onge Memorial Scholarship, the Wayne Barrett Memorial Hockey Fund, the Charlotte County Cancer Society or the Fundy Nursing Home Activity Department would be appreciated by the family.
