It is with great sadness that the family of the late Pearl Samms announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the age of 87 years. At the time of her passing she was surrounded with love by her two granddaughters, special friend and great-granddaughter. Predeceased by her loving husband, George and son Harvey, parents Annie and Henry Collier, brothers, James (Meta), Joe, Charlie (Elizabeth), Tom, (Blanche), Cliff (Dulcie), sisters, Minnie (Joe) Coughon, Susie (Tom) Hilliard. Left to mourn are her sons, Charlie (Ivy), Cliff (Lucy), Don (Rose), daughters: Lillian, Loraine and family. Also her devoted companion Mike Wheeler and daughter, Cynthia, sisters, Alma (John), Vivian (Cecil), Blanche (Gus) and Elizabeth and daughter-in-law, Brenda, 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Triki, nurses and staff on the medicine unit at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital for their care, respect and compassion, Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Stephenville Crossing on Tuesday, March 27th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, March 28th at 2:00 p.m. at the Anglican Church in Stephenville Crossing with Interment in the Anglican Cemetery, Seal Cove Road in Stephenville Crossing.
