The death occurred at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, N.B., on Thursday, December 10, 2009, of Merrill Bishop, formerly of Moncton, N.B., aged 71 years. Born in Summerside, he was the son of the late Henry L. and Lucy (MacLeod) Bishop. Survived by his son Anthony (Kelly) Bishop, Allison, N.B.; daughter Karen (Woodrow) Hynes, Riverview, N.B.; sisters Sylva (John) Sutherland, Summerside; and Helen (Charles) Myers, Sackville, N.B.; grandchildren Liam Bishop and Stephen and Bryan Hynes; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside. Visiting hours Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. only. A graveside committal service will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley, on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, N.B., would be appreciated.
