Fisher: John Robert, Truro, died suddenly of a heart attack on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the age of 71. Born in Truro, he was the beloved husband of Lorna (McCully) with whom they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last month. Loving father to Deborah (Patrick Brigham), Toronto, and Jeffrey, Toronto. Brother to James (Brenda). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Robert and Genevieve (Gamble) Fisher. John attended The Nova Scotia Agricultural College and upon graduating in 1959 established Fisher’s Poultry Farm with his father. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for visitation on Friday, March 30th, 6:30 – 8:00pm at the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, from where the funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, March 31, with Rev. Ian Harrison officiating. A reception will immediately follow at the Best Western Glengarry – MacLeod Room.
