On March 23, 2012, at Agape Hospice, Calgary, Alta., Sharon MacLeod said her last farewell, surrounded by her loving family, after her courageous battle with cancer. Sharon was born to Marion Simpson (Hardy) and Thane Ellis in Summerside. She leaves to mourn her husband Alan, sons Clarke and Ryan, stepchildren Sheila (Joe) and grandchildren Megan and Graham of Toronto; Patrick of Vancouver and David of Montreal; mother and stepfather Marion and Gary Simpson; sisters Darlene Peters (Tom), Roxanne Campbell (Gordon), Nadine Hendricken (Francis) all of P.E.I., Nicole Bromberg of Moncton and Tanya Ellis Comfort (David) of London, Ont.; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Thane; grandparents Leila and Leland Ellis and Florence and Cecil Hardy. Sharon was known for her generosity and compassionate spirit. She enriched the lives of family and many friends alike. Even in her darkest hours Sharon continued to unselfishly show care and concern for those around her. In her brief time at Agape Hospice she endeared herself to staff, chaplains and her fellow patients. We will always remember her beautiful smile and her infectious laughter will ring in our hearts forever. A celebration of Sharon’s life was held March 30 at McInnis and Holloway. As stated by Sharon’s closest friend “She is not gone... just gone ahead.”
