Scott Gamble

Date de naissance : 5 août 1953

GAMBLE, SCOTT - The passing of Scott Gamble occurred after a short illness, at the Moncton Hospital. He was 58. Scott was born in Fredericton to Ross and Lois (Scott) Gamble, on August 5th, 1953. He was predeceased by both parents, and maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his sister, Joan (Steven Kendrick) of Penniac; his partner, Linda MacCoubrey of Nashwaak Village and her son, David; several aunts and cousins. Scott had a great affinity for young people, and worked with them in a variety of capacities. He was a youth leader with Katimavik and a Corrections Officer before earning a BED from UNB in 1992 then eventually teaching at FHS and LHHS. He loved teaching. He delighted in the gifted student and had a special affinity for the underdog. He was able to connect across the spectrum. Scott had a passion for English and enjoyed expressing himself in written and spoken word. Reading enhanced his life greatly and he so loved to have others discover the pleasure of books. He was thrilled when "Walter the Farting Dog" tempted boys to read! No life is perfect. Scott struggled with addiction for all of his adult life, but had long periods of sobriety, of which he was very proud. As was his family. Scott believed in AA and benefitted greatly from his affiliation with the program and the fellowship he found there.
There will be no visitation by request of the family. Arrangements are in the care of York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in Scotts' memory may be made to the Lung Association or to Portage NB. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
