Ian Barry Gilmore

Ian Barry Gilmore

Passed away on April 17, 2012, surrounded by his family. Ian is survived by his loving wife Rachna (Kalra) and his beloved daughters Karen (Ian Paul) and Robin. He is also survived by his siblings Sandra Sanderson (Brian), Ross (Gloria), Cheryl, Kathy Chandler (James), mother-in-law Shakuntala Kalra, and brother-in-law Deepak Kalra (Sue) along with his large extended family. Born in P.E.I. on February 14, 1950, to John and Betty Gilmore, Ian’s spirit reflected the clean sweeping spaces of the north shore beaches and the pure ocean air. He was strong and gentle, an ardent lover of music, especially the Blues, a deeply committed family man, and a civil servant (IT sector) of exemplary dedication and integrity who worked both in P.E.I. and Ottawa. We are enormously grateful and privileged to have celebrated and shared life with such a gracious, generous man. We would like to thank the staff of the Oncology ward at the Ottawa General Hospital for the fine care they provided during Ian’s last days. Friends and family may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 2370 St. Joseph Blvd, Saturday April 28, 2012 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. In memoriam donations may be made to MusiCounts: www.musicounts.ca or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences may be signed at: www.Kellyfh.ca
