It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dorothy House, who died suddenly Monday, April 23, 2012 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Boston, Mass, in 1926 Dorothy was the daughter of the late Otto and Loretta (Campbell) Andrews.
She was a member of Immaculate Heart parish, Mira Road. Dorothy was a loving gift to all who knew her.
She is survived by three daughters Patricia (Wayne) Hardy, Elaine (Greg) Humphrey, both of Sydney and Marjorie at home; four sons William (Diane), Donald, both of Sydney; Gerard (Margie), Calgary and Glenn (Linda), Richmond, BC. Also surviving are grandchildren Andrew (Jamie), Erin (Brad), Jule Ann, Christopher (Amanda), Lindsey (Ray), Brad, Lynn, Kimberly, Jennifer, Leanne and Kyle and eight great grandchildren.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband William 'Bill' in 1984 and daughter-in-law Gwen House.
Visitation for Mrs. House will take place at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel on Friday, April 27 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart Church with Rev. Jim Oliver officiating. Reception will follow at the Mira Road Fire Department. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
Donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to HIROS (Head Injury Recovery Outreach Society) of whom her son Donald is President.
