It is with deep sadness that we the family announce the peaceful passing of Timothy Walsh on Monday, April 23, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Antigonish, raised in Ashby, he was the son of Mrs. Jean (Powell) Walsh, Marion Bridge and the late Ray J. Walsh.
Tim Bob was employed with the Canadian Coast Guard as a deck hand for 30 years.
He enjoyed going sailing, watching movies, playing darts and pool.
Besides his mother, Tim Bob is survived by his sisters, Heather Walsh, Sydney, Brenda (Bob) Pyke, Sydney Forks; brothers, Glenn (Barb) Walsh, Reserve Mines, Arnold (Carol Ann) Walsh, Sydney, Barry (Janet) Walsh, Orangeville; special nephew, Hayden Ray Walsh as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, Ray, he was predeceased by his brother, Dennis.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday May 1, 2012, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Reception to follow. Private burial to take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cape Breton Palliative Care or a charity of choice.
