It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leslie Chubbs of L'Anse au Clair, NL, announce his passing on April 19, 2012 at the Palliative Care Unit in Forteau at the age of 81 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories wife Muriel; children Dulcie Carpenter (Lanny), Sheila, Barry (Claudette), Rodney (Mary), Kevin (Yvonne) and Everett (Mary); 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters Mabel, and Rita; brothers Russell and Clifford, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by parents Alpheaus and Mary Chubbs, son Leslie Jr. (Rowena), brothers Amos, Cecil, Bill and Dave. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in L’Anse au Clair on Thursday and Friday from where the funeral service took place Saturday, April 21, at 4 p.m. with Rev. Norman Cutler officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery in L’Anse au Clair. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, in L’Anse au Loup.
