BETTS, MARVEN ROBERT - Marven Robert Betts was born November 29, 1930 in Newcastle Bridge, NB, the son of the late Ephraim and Mabel. He passed away April 24, 2012 at his home. Marven was predeceased by brothers, Everett, Lawrence and Spurgeon; sisters, Ina and Marie and infant son, Bruce. Marven is survived by his wife, Gretchen; son, Gregory and daughter-in-law, Karen; sister, Mildred McPhee and many nieces and nephews. Marven was for many years, and throughout the province, an active and distinguished educator and community leader. He was also an athlete and coach of note, winning many championships, a prolific reader and in his later years, a passionate student of salmon fishing.
Cremation has taken place. A private burial will follow. Date and place for a celebration of Marven's life and accomplishments will be announced.
