RANDY GLEN EARL MOORE
November 24, 1955 – April 24, 2012
Randy will go down in history as one of the ‘good’ ones. His optimism, curiosity, and humour remained with him to the end. With courage, grace, and love in abundance, Randy passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family. Randy will be missed very much by his Fiancé, Florence Fauchoux; his Dad and best friend, Glen Earl Moore and partner, Denise Barlow; sister, Marilyn and partner, Gary Plosloski; eldest daughter, Kelley Moore and partner, Lenore Swystun; eldest son, Christopher Moore and wife, Ninette and children, Jonah and Daniel; daughter, Ally Moore and Fiancé, Clayton Ouellette; son, Desmond Moore and girlfriend, Brady Cline, and a circle of close friends. Randy was predeceased by his Mom, Nellie, and eldest brother, Robert. Randy’s deepest passion was his family. He was a loving son, partner, father, and Geeba. His favourite moments with his family were spent discovering nature, travelling and philosophizing about life and how to be the best people we can be.
As a youngster raised in Yorkton, Randy was known for his fun loving, friendly ways. Everyone got to know Randy. Whether it be the farmers along the back roads near the family farmstead where Randy and his siblings raced around adventurously; to cruising the streets of Yorkton causing a ruckus with numerous buddies. Randy’s personable style coupled with his goal-oriented drive led to early entrepreneurial efforts. Beginning with the creation of his own painting company, Randy learned the ins and outs of running his own business. With the plan of marriage and starting a family, Randy turned his focus to other business pursuits leading him to Saskatoon where he met his mentor, Roli Oakenfold, and where he found his life’s passion using life insurance and investments to better the lives of others. With his first business suit gifted to him by his Dad, he never turned back on his dream of growing a successful business. Beginning with earning the top awards for sales with then Mutual Life Insurance, Randy grew his own name brand through Sunlife Financial with the founding of Moore Financial Services that he operated with his son, Christopher, partner, Florence and colleagues he considered family. The success of his business afforded him the opportunity to pursue a number of volunteer and philanthropic endeavours such as Habitat for Humanity International, Meewasin Valley Authority Foundation, Saskatoon Zoo Foundation, and contributing funds for equipment at the Rehabilitation Centre at City Hospital and several other charities and foundations. In all that Randy did, he approached life with a philosophy that luck was not found but rather made by pursuing one’s passions with hard work and integrity. A celebration of Randy’s life will take place at Knox United Church (838 Spadina Cres. East) on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Rob Brown presiding. In Randy's memory, donations may be sent to the Saskatoon Zoo Foundation or a community cause of your choice.
