Royal Navy Veteran of World War II. Born May 11th, 1923 at Grand Bank. Passed away at St. Luke’s Homes, St. John’s, April 22nd, 2012. Predeceased by daughter Jane, son William, wife Patricia, sister Florence Parsons and brothers Maxwell and Percy. Giving thanks for his life are sons Jim (Linda), George, daughters Karen (Robert), Betty, daughter-in-law Debbie Ludlow, granddaughters Sarah and Amy Thornhill and their mother Linda; Katherine, Anne, Elizabeth and Victoria Tuck; grandsons David and George Thornhill, and Max and Will Parrell. Left with abundant joyful memories are his sisters-in-law Betty Brett and Lucy Freake and brothers-in-law Arthur Ludlow and Charles Brett. Also celebrating Uncle Lloyd’s life a number of nieces and nephews. Lloyd had a successful career as a radio operator at Gander Aeradio (Signals) and could often be seen walking to work on Memorial Drive with his brown paper bag.
