JENSEN, MARY CATHERINE (nee TRACEY) - With her beloved family at her side, Mary passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on April 28th, 2012 after a short and sudden illness at the age of 91. She was born in Harvey on June 23rd, 1920 to John and Catherine Tracey. She was a loving wife to John Jensen who predecased her in 1997. Mary had been a resident of Pine Grove Nursing Home for the past few months and prior to that at Riverdale Court. Mary is survived by her two sons, Clifford of Fredericton, NB and Donald and his wife Cathy of Fredericton, NB; two daughters, Anna Marie Gorham and her husband Jim of New Maryland, NB and Helen Folker and her husband Gary of Markham, ON; four grandchildren, Amy Gorham (Charles Hoyt) of Fredericton, NB, Alexander Gorham (Jennifer Whelan) of Fredericton, NB, Michael Folker of Markham, ON, Adam Folker of California and one great-grandchild Alexandra "Ally" Hoyt. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and two brothers, George and Edward Tracey. Mary had a quiet and gentle manner that endeared her to everyone. She will always be remembered for her positive attitude and her ability to create a special friendship with everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Mary's door was always open and her heart was always full of love. Her greatest pleasure in life was being surrounded by her children and grandchildren whom she was so proud of. She was truly a remarkable woman who was adored by all. The family gratefully acknowledges the love and kindness shown to Mary by her extraordinary caregiver, Lynn Simpson and the staff at Pine Grove Nursing Home.
Mary's family will receive visitors at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton on Tuesday, May 1st, 2012 from 5 to 8 PM. A memorial mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012 at 12 noon with Fr. J. J. Dolan as celebrant. Interment will take place in the Forest Hill Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the Fredericton Food Bank would be appreciated by the family. www.mcadamsfh.com
