Reginald (Reg) Neal, beloved husband of Irene Neal (nee Moseanko), passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on April 28, 2012. Reg was born on the family farm near Palmer, SK in 1915 and would have celebrated his 97th birthday on April 30th. He was raised on the family farm, which celebrated its centennial in 2008. Reg’s love and passion was farming which he did until his retirement in 1980, with the exception of the time he served in the Air Force during WWII. He also drove the school bus for the Assiniboia School District for 15 years. Reg will be remembered for his vitality, incredible sense of humour and his dedication to his family. Reg was also very dedicated to his communities of Palmer and Mazenod and to the Palmer and Zion United Churches. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing cards, woodworking and gardening especially growing tomatoes. He loved the sport of baseball, playing in his earlier years and later watching it. Living in Moose Jaw in the winter months since his retirement Reg enjoyed braiding hangers, and making plastic canvas items to give to family, friends and neighbours. Reg was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Gertrude Neal, sisters, Ivy Kowalsky and Marjorie Tighe, and his brother, Albert Neal. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 61 years, Irene, and his sister Doris Prentice. He will be forever missed by his children; Suzan Yaworski (Ray), their children, Lewis (Emma), Stewart and Rachel; Grant Neal (Lorelei), their children Amy-Jo, Courtney, Jessica, Zachary, Casey, Riley and Shay; and Lynn Jensen (Ken), their children, Tanya Fontaine White (Justin), Amanda Hofmann (Darren), and Chantel Fontaine; great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Keaton Hofmann, Lex and Myka Rouble, and Harlow Neal. A celebration of Reg’s life will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St W, Moose Jaw, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E, Moose Jaw, SK, S6H 1H3, or to a charity of your choice.
