Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Palliative Care Unit, St. John’s, on May 2, 2012, Ceridwen Hynes (nee Price), in her 53rd year. Ceridwen was born in Iran to John (deceased) and Kathleen Price. She moved to Newfoundland and Labrador in 1964, and lived for a time in Churchill Falls where her father practiced medicine. Following boarding school in Britain, she graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a degree in Education. She taught Junior/High School in Cartwright, Goose Bay, Blaketown and Conception Bay South. She leaves to mourn her husband Rev. Howard Hynes; three children: Myfanwy, Anwen and Liam; her mother Kathleen Price; brothers: David Price (Lucy), and Goronwy Price (Corenia); sister: Jane Price (Kevin Hynes); mother-in-law June Hynes (Richard, deceased); sisters and brothers-in-law: Sharon Hynes (Frank Stone), Marilyn Hynes, Beverley Krupa (Matthew), Dorothy Hynes-Fitzgerald (Paul), Richard Hynes (Geri), Darren Hynes (Michelle Latimer) and Darlene Cassidy (David); as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, and from 2-5 p.m. on Friday. Funeral Service to take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from St. Thomas Anglican Church. Interment of ashes to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road.
