Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex in the presence of her loving family on Friday, May 4, 2012, Lydia “Marjorie” Snow R.N., aged 88 years. Predeceased by husband Fred in August 2011. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories, son David (Pamela) and daughter Cathy (Chris Nicolle); four loving grandchildren: Malcolm and Heidi Snow and Oliver and Patrick Nicolle; sister Edna Morgan; sisters-in-law: Nancy Butler (Bell Island), Fern Butler (Bell Island), Margaret Butler (Grand Falls-Windsor). Also leaving to mourn brothers-in-law: Wallace Snow (Marie), Walter Snow (June) and Don Snow (Glenys Hiscock); sisters-in-law: Louise (Peter Stalder) (Mississauga, ON) and Joan (Clifford Andrews); as well as a large number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Glenbrook Lodge and the East 1, Hoyles Home who cared for her so lovingly. Marjorie left her home of Bell Island after finishing high school to become a proud “General Girl”. She graduated from the General Hospital School of Nursing in 1947 and spent her entire life lovingly caring for others. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Sunday, May 6 from 7-9 p.m. and Monday, May 7 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Logy Bay Road on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Following the funeral service, cremation will take place. Interment will take place at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road, on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at 11 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Marjorie’s memory may be made to St. Mark’s Anglican Church or a charity of one’s choice.
