Stephens, Robert Wendel

The death of Robert Wendel Stephens, 52, of Amherst, occurred suddenly at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Saturday, May 5, 2012.
Born in Sackville, Robert was a son of the late Hugh and Phyllis (Buck) Stephens.
Robert had been an extremely active member of the Amherst Lions Club having been a past King Lion as well as having held many other positions throughout the years. His top priority while in the Lions was to help his community. He enjoyed sports and spending recreational time camping and playing washer toss. Robert loved his dogs, Maggie, Snoopy and Ben.
Robert will be sadly missed by his wife, Cathy (nee Bowser) Hannah-Stephens, Amherst; a son Patrick, Port Elgin; a daughter, Robyn, Sackville; step-son, Jason (Christa Hicks) Hannah, Sackville; two brothers, Gary, Sackville and Richard, Amherst; four step-grandchildren, Brandon, Dylan, Jase Jr., and Taylor; in-laws Donald and Barb Bowser, Sackville; sister-in-law, Susan (Eric Ellis) Bowser, Whitby, ON; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by a sister, Mary, and two brothers, Roy, and Ron.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (506-364-1300). Honoring the wishes of the family, there was no visitation. A funeral service was held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at 4 p.m. Archdeacon Reginald Stockall officiated. Burial followed in the Westcock Cemetery.
In Robert's memory, donations made to the family would be appreciated or to a charity of one's choice.
