Passed peacefully away on Mother’s Day, May 13, 2012, at Kenny’s Pond Retirement Residence, our dear mother, Una Allison (Gillard) Barter R.N. Leaving to mourn her children: Shelley (Gord Gill), Glenn (Beverley), Robert (Gail), Heather (Adrian McKeever) and Geoffrey (Brenda). Also her very special nieces: Elizabeth Lewis (Wayne Griffin), Leona Reed (Mike) and Betty Bussey (Frank); her grandchildren: Mark Penney, Brian Penney and Julie Gill, Glenda Brown (Alan), Wanda Reddin (Harry), Valerie Caines (Charlie), Kristen Barter (Sean Mendonca), Laura Barter (Daniel Parsons), D.J. Loper (Alisha), Merlin Loper and Crystal Ables (Preston); great-grandchildren: Kirsten and Rebecca Brown, Carson and Cole Reddin, Tony, Emelia and Ricky Ables. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Kenny’s Pond for their exceptional kindness and care of our mother. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Tuesday, May 15, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and on Wednesday, May 16, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from St. David’s Presbyterian Church, Elizabeth Avenue, on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at 2:00 pm. A private family interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemeter. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Una’s memory to St. David’s Presbyterian Church or to the SPCA.
