Lieu de décès : SYDNEY, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada
Date de décès : 14 mai 2012
Adrian R. Morrison, born June 14, 1957, in Sydney, lost his valorous battle with cancer on Monday, May 14, 2012.
He fought for his life until the bitter end. His journey was not alone, his loving wife and soulmate Kathy was by his side and helped him deal with the insurmountable hurdles along the way. His children, while following his wishes of “normality,” strived to cope with the effects of his battle with love and support. Francis Maglario, Bernice Grant and many health-care team members worked to support his wishes.
Adrian was a special person to all who knew him. Since his school days he was involved in hockey and played the game with numerous friends, more recently with the “Crazy Eights.” The after game chats and jokes with the guys in the dressing room were second to none. All through the years his relationship with his teammates was cherished.
He worked for many years as a sales associate for local radio stations. He was fortunate to have the support and kindness from his employer, “The Giant,” and co-workers. Many friends enjoyed his practical jokes and fun sense of humour.
He was well versed in many areas with a passion and great interest for music and history. He loved cars and took great pride in maintaining them and more importantly driving them. His “Goat” was the first and rightly so, his “Beemer” was the last.
How does one describe a person so special to so many people? His wife, his children, his siblings and his friends all share a loss of words in answer to this question. He was an announced realist. He was a loving, easygoing person and always made those around him feel like no other. His “one liners” were awesome and were launched with impeccable timing. Simply put, he made each one of us “special.”
His pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Hart); sons, Jason and Zack; daughter, Faye; granddaughter, Lenaya; brothers, Harry (Theresa), Donnie (Mary), Kevin and sister, Tisha; mother-in-law, Joyce; brothers-in-law, Bob (Gail), Gary (Marion); sisters-in-law, Sandra (Leo), Joanne (Brent); numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces; as well as Sheldon Hanna, Barkley Haddad and many other cousins and friends.
He is welcomed by his father, Alex T., mother, Mary, brother, Joe, father-in-law, Wallace and nephew, Troy.
He wasn’t ready to go and we weren’t ready to lose him…so much to share. We loved him dearly and are heartbroken without him. We must now honour his wish for us to “be happy.”
May his light always shine upon us, with us, in us.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society to help find a cure.
Visitation for Adrian Morrison will he held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. A celebration of life will take place at St. Joseph’s Church on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Everett MacDow officiating. A reception will follow at the Cedar’s Club.
