It is with saddened hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, David ‘Iggy’ Morrison. Iggy passed away at home on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, with his loving family at his side.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Daniel Neil and Isabel (MacKenzie) Morrison.
Iggy was employed with MT&T, retiring in 1997 after 32 years of service. During his retirement, Iggy enjoyed keeping active and meeting people. He especially enjoyed time spent with his son Christopher assiting him with the day to day operations of his landscaping and contracting businesses.
Iggy loved life and touched many lives with his sense of humour and his smile. He truly enjoyed his time spent with his family and friends and especially with the boys at Miller Rentals.
Iggy will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 34 years, Diane (Denton); sons, Roger (Lisa) and their son, his only grandchild, Zachary, Reserve Mines, Christopher (Cara), Sydney; sister-in-law, Valerie Denton at home and his extended Denton family of brothers in law, sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephew and friends. Iggy will also be truly missed by his four-legged companions, Timber, Bear and Marvin.
Besides his parents, Iggy was also predeceased by his brother, Dennis.
In honoring Iggy’s wishes, creamation has taken place under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Sydney Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will take place Friday May 18, 2012, at 10 a.m., at St. Theresa’s Church, Sydney with Fr. Jim Oliver officiating. Following the mass, all are welcomed to join the family for a reception at the Grand Lake Road Fire Hall.
Memorial donations in Iggy's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation or charity of choice.
