Clara Amelia ‘Daisy’ Spanks, a resident of Harbourstone Enhanced Care, passed away Friday, May 18, 2012.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Mary (Jack) Bonnell.
Until retirement, Daisy was employed at Jacobson’s Ladies Wear, Sydney.
Surviving are her daughter, Valda Hillier, Ontario; granddaughter, Robin Lynn and three great-grandchildren.
Daisy was predeceased by her husband, Arthur; sister, Freda; brothers, Francis, Harvey, John and Cecil. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Sydney Pentecostal Church on Monday 2 p.m., with Pastor Ron Coole officiating. Interment in Brookside Cemetery, Sydney Mines.
