We regret to announce the passing of Geraldine (Jerry) Devoe, 62, on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at the Northside General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Florence, Feb. 18, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Norman ‘Diddy’ and Eva (Boutilier) MacIntyre. She was a member of Wilson United Church, Florence.
She leaves behind to mourn the love of her life, husband Wayne; daughter, Eileen, Alder Point; son, Reggie (Shannon), Ft. McMurray; grandchildren, Cory (Kelsey), Amanda and Joshua Devoe and a great-granddaughter, Marissa Devoe. She is also survived by sisters, Beanie (Vincent Legatto), Margie Boulter, Lesina (Alex Edwards) and Mary Gardiner; brothers, Tommy (Thelma), Ronnie, Melvin (Laurena) and Ricky, all of Sydney Mines.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Cory, father and mother-in-law, Hubert and Pearl Devoe, sisters, Helena and Leona MacIntyre, Catherine (Kay) Fiander, Naomi Young and Lillian Bailey, and brothers, Daniel and Philip.
Visitation for the late Jerry Devoe will be held in the J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Friday, June 1, 2012, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of her life will take place Saturday, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. A reception will be held at the Alder Point Community Hall, following the service.
