Passed away surrounded by her family, at the Halifax Infirmary Hospital on Sunday, June 3, 2012, of M. Louise Green. A longtime resident of Summerside and formerly of Seawood Estates, Stanley Bridge, aged 71 years. Born in Stanley Bridge and raised in Summerside, Louise was the daughter of the late Alfred and Lilla Gallant. Louise was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, G. Owen Green as well as her stepmother Rennie (MacIntyre) Gallant. Mother of Allan (Pearl) Green, Eastern Passage, N.S., and Brenda Doucette of Summerside. Grandmother of Brad Green (Lauren McCaffrey), Halifax; Lauren (Matthew) Pitman, Eastern Passage; Tyler Doucette (Angela Whatley), Victoria, B.C.; and Ashley Doucette (Josh Noye), Ellerslie. Great-grandmother of Jakob, Haydden and Thomas. Sister of Lorraine (Jeff Aerts) Reid, Helen (Kenny) Gallant, and Leonard (Shirley)Gallant, Wilfred MacIntyre (Pearl McCarthy), Edwin (Gloria) MacIntyre, Eileen LeClair, Barbara Gallant (Mel Collicut), Gail (Ross) McKie, Helen MacIntyre(Marvin Cann), and Anne (Bob) Seymour. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and loyal friends. Louise was previously employed at Prince County Hospital, Dietary department, and more recently at Carr’s Oyster Bar in Stanley Bridge, where she took great pride in preparing chowders and her homemade salad dressing. Louise enjoyed bingo, card games,cooking for family gatherings and visits with family and friends. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at both Prince County Hospital and the 5.1 Coronary Care ICU at the Halifax Infirmary Hospital. Resting at DavisonFuneral Home, Kensington. No visitation by personal request. Funeral service Friday, June 8, at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, New London, at 11:30 a.m. A reception will follow in church basement. Interment in People’s Cemetery, New London. Family flowers only. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Prince County Hospital Foundation.
