NORMAN GORDON BAKER
Aged 82, passed away on May 23, 2012.
Predeceased by his wife Florence (Flo) in March 2008, and their son Richard in February 2010.
Norm was an accomplished millwright by trade until retiring from Canadian White Pine in 1987 and enjoyed retirement with many challenging projects and successes, always ready to hone his expertise in areas of mechanics, electronics, gardening, cooking, and with any other practical problems he came across.
He was born in Wolseley, Saskatchewan, on October 9, 1929, and moved to Vancouver, B.C., with his parents and five siblings in his early childhood.
He married Flo at 20, and after a few moves they found their own home a block away from his childhood home where they lived for 41 years before moving to Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast in 1995.
Norm was very proud of his achievements.
He leaves behind his three children: Joanne Krahnbiel (Bob Byrne), Judy Rogers (Ken) and Steve Baker (Donalda Greenwell-Baker); six grandchildren: Angela, Kevin, Daniel, Ben, Nick and Dustyn; and six great-grandchildren.
There will be no service by request.
No flowers, but donations to B.C. Cancer Society for leukemia research would be gratefully received.
