William "Bill" MacDonald

MacDONALD, WILLIAM "BILL" - William “Bill” Patrick MacDonald, of Moncton died on June 5th, 2012 in The Moncton Hospital surrounded by family after a lengthy bout with cancer. Born in Saint John, May 25th 1935, to Donald and Lillian MacDonald, Bill was a kind and giving man often thinking of others more than himself. Bill joined the RCAF in the early 1950’s as a radar technician and served for 25years, later working for the Department of Transportation in a similar role until his retirement in 1994. Bill was a shy, yet somehow outgoing man who belonged to many social groups including the Tuna Club and Dart Club. As a runner, Bill completed many marathons throughout the 1970’s and 80’s. He was also an avid curler and great lover of music. Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years Mary (O’Keefe of Fairville); brothers Doug (Christine) and Don (Sharon); sisters Mary (Tony), Carol (Ken), and Janice (Glen); sons Ronald (Shan), Donald, David and Ian (Megan); daughters Patricia, Jane (Michel), and Karen (Mark); grandsons Andrew and Trevor; granddaughters; Meghan, Colleen, Kirsten, Jessica and Lauren; great grandsons; Nicholas, Liam, Jayden, Alex and Noel; great granddaughters Elizabeth, Grace and Brooklyn. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
