The death occurred peacefully at the Birches Nursing Home in Musquodoboit Harbour, N.S., on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, of Hazel Ramsay, formerly of Summerside, in her 96th year. Born in Victoria West, she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Lila Mae (Smith) Enman. After the death of her husband and soulmate, Elmer H. Ramsay, in 2003, Hazel moved to Musquodoboit Harbour, N.S. Survived by her son Eric E. (Ivene Mitchell) Ramsay, Courtice, Ont.; daughter Edyth M. (David) Shuman, Musquodoboit Harbour, N.S.; grandchildren Cindy (Kevin) Durning, Dr. Michael (Lori Rodger) Shuman, Dave (Tina O'Brien) Shuman, Dr. Scott Ramsay, Shelley (John Myers) Ramsay; great-grandchildren Brett, Emma, Bryce, Nicholas, Peter, Samantha, and DJ (David Joseph); brother Albert (Ada Ellis) Enman; sister-in-law, Susie Enman; brother-in-law, Hazen (Mary Birch) Ramsay; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, with a special fondness for her own Dr. Hazel Roper. Predeceased by her sister Bertha (Clayton) Yeo; brothers Lorne (Annie Noye) Enman, Murdock Enman, Orrin (Muriel Ladner) Enman; sisters-in-law Marion (Robert) MacLaren, and Jean (Earle) Chappelle. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Saturday then to the Summerside Presbyterian Church for funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment in the Lot 16 United Church Cemetery with reception to follow at the Lot 16 United Church Hall. Visiting hours Friday from 6-9 p.m. Memorial donations to the Summerside Presbyterian Church, the Prince County Hospital Foundation, the Birches Nursing Home and Twin Oakes Hospital, or the Lot 16 United Church Cemetery fund would be appreciated.
