It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Emily Gay age 74 of Amherst on Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital in Moncton, NB, while surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 8, 1938 in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Mina (McNish) Noiles.
Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her children, Clarence (Joanne) White, Pugwash, Debbie (Roger) Pleau, Maccan and Linda (Ricky) Baxter, Amherst; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; also survived by her six sisters, Laura Johnson, Moncton, NB, Thelma (Bob) Dickson, Pugwash, Elsie Stevens, Jacksons Point, Grace Noiles, Rodden Hills, Marilyn Barry, Stewiack and Winnita (Donnie) Barnes, Bayfield, NB; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Dorothy will also be missed by her beloved furry companion, Lady.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Gay; son, William Russell; as well as brothers, Arnold Edward and Alex Eugene.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst (667-9906). Family and friends are invited to a graveside service on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Amherst Cemetery with Rev. Donald Miller officiating.
Memorial donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
